The Nature's Message for Health Hub is the South Carolina chapter of the Nature & Health Alliance, supported by the REI Cooperative Action Fund. The "Hub" is housed in the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism, in Sirrine Hall 368, at Clemson University.
Our mission is to create change by developing high-quality resources in print and web formats on the health benefits of nature, distributing them online and with our partners through their events; branding gear and swag with the health benefits of nature; and developing messages that are effective at reaching (new) audiences through rigorous message-testing research.
Our vision is for every South Carolinian to be advocates for time in nature, to spend more time outdoors, and to be knowledgeable about nature’s health benefits; and for an increased demand and interest in nature and health to lead to more events on nature and health held across the state and with widespread media attention.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our inaugural gathering at the South Carolina Botanical Gardens on April 10th and 11th, 2026! In coordination with the annual plant sale, we loved sharing our biodegradable plant markers, stickers, "Nature is Home" t-shirts, and capturing moments at our nature-themed photobooth. Swipe through the gallery below to see our launch in action!
We are excited to attend the REI Greenville store's annual anniversary sale, May 15 and 22, 2026, at 1140 Woodruff Road!
We will have our signature "Nature is Home" stickers, give out flyers on the health benefits of nature for parents, counselors, nurses, teachers and more, and have coloring sheets for the kids!
Nature is Home!
